THE KNIFE IN THE DARKNESS
DIRTY FIGHTING, BELOW THE BELT, STEALTH
DAGGERS - DUEL WIELD
Born a bastard amongst thieves in Antiva, Orion never had much of a chance at climbing very far up the social ladder. He barely remembers his parents, only vague images of a mother with beautiful raven hair, and a father that always stank of ale. If that was even his father. From a young age, Orion was independent, making his own way through the underworld of Antiva for the most part on his own. Maybe his parents died, maybe they were arrested, maybe they were the ones who sold him to the Crows, or maybe he just left them, he can't really remember any more and it doesn't matter. Now, he has only himself, and he is completely fine with that. His surname is even one of his own creation, since he never had a legitimate one, and he likes to think it has a certain attractive and foreign-sounding ring to it that attracts exactly the sort of attention he is looking for.
Always light on his feet and growing up in the shadows, stealing what he needed to survive and not afraid to use people for his own gain, it is no surprise that Orion caught the notice of many of the less honest types in Antiva. It was through these groups of people who he crossed in a bad way that Orion found himself sold to the Crows in his childhood, and while he hated his fate for a long time, he has since learned to generally embrace it. Lucky (or unlucky) for him, Orion's good looks and charm made him desirable even though the Crows usually chose Elves over humans, and after surviving the trials of being raised with other potentials, Orion has become a full-fledged Crow assassin. Without the Crows, he would have been nothing, and probably would have died unknown on the street somewhere, probably starved to death or with a knife in his back. The Crows though - the Crows have power. They have pull. They have wealth. And amongst them, Orion has been finding the chance to make a name for himself, finally.
Sometimes, Orion does wish for his freedom - he hates answering to any authority figure, be it within the Crows or not. His dream is to continue to live his current lifestyle of personal assassinations from the shadows and hedonistic pleasures, but without anyone else being behind him, pulling the strings. The Crows, however, are for life, so Orion has become more determined to climb through the ranks until hopefully someday he can be the one pulling the strings. He isn't afraid to use other people for his own gain, and has a very weak conscience, so he has no problems doing whatever it takes to achieve what he wants. The ends will always justify the means in his eyes, and he doesn't have enough time to regret anything or feel much guilt. This makes him excellent at his job, and horrible at relationships of nearly any kind.
Orion has lately been taking a lot of jobs outside of Antiva, feeling a bit more free outside of the Crows direct jurisdiction, and also finally having the chance to see other places that he never dreamed as a child he would get to see. He usually works independently, and if he has any sort of companion, the relationship is typically short-lived. While he likes to believe himself invincible, Orion knows in the back of his mind he will probably die quite young, and he intends to live his life to the fullest as much as he can before that inevitable day.
